Weird things about me
I’m a geek, I like sushi, I am neutral towards comic books, I don’t care for anime and I don’t like Star Trek (I do like Star Wars though).
I like RPGs, but not Japanese ones. I have seen Lord of the Rings multiple times. I never paid for any MMORPG and hate the farming and grinding these games require. I love Bioware RPGs.
I love VLC, but don’t care for Twitter. I love Notepad++ (Windows) and Kate (Linux). I never learned how to use vi or emacs properly. I dislike Java, and I’m trying Python. Ruby doesn’t scale. I love Ubuntu and Linux in general.
I use Facebook, but hate most of its apps. I don’t like the fact that Microsoft might buy them, and I certainly don’t like the fact that they block Google’s Friendconnect!
I often watch Internet video. Youtube, TEDTalks, Google Techtalks etcetera. I love listening to lectures while working (yes, I’m a multitasker like that). I also follow lots of series and watch lots of movies.
The Wii looks overrated hardware-wise. The Wiimote isn’t all that great or innovative. The games are good tho, if you’re a ten-year old.
I have GTA IV, and completed the story in record-time (three days). I don’t have enough time to play games, which is why I have to finish them so quickly. I am enjoying the casual multiplayer tho.
My music collection stands at 201GB (!) at the moment. I don’t like iTunes. I like VLC, Foobar, and Amarok. I listen to Trance, Techno, Pop, IDM, Lounge, Jazz and other music (no Metal, Punk, or Hardrock).
Shuffle mode always makes me skip 99% of the tracks.
I like hard music, but only with a nice bass & beat. No teenagers shouting how oppressed and depressed they are, please!
I drink too much Coke (according to my own standards). Still, I also drink a lot of tea and water. I try to avoid energy drinks, I also try to avoid coffee (it makes me nervous and stressed), but sometime a nice cup really helps to start the day.
I would never bungeejump, climb mountains or jump out of planes. The though alone makes me nervous. It just sounds like too much risc and work for what you get in return (a “quickkick”).
I’ve used Powerpoint. One of my (OCD) pet-peeves is to get every font, size and color juuuuust right. Why doesn’t Powerpoint look good by default?
I like going to a bar or club from time to time. But I also enjoy hanging out with friends.
There is no time at which I must be in bed. Normally, I stay up until 2 a.m. I am a night person. I like sleeping a bit longer in the morning.
I always almost wear jeans. I wear a lot of polo-shirts and short-sleeved shirts. I feel warm quickly.
I don’t like text messaging, my fingers must be too clumsy. Phoning is so much quicker and easier (and no character limit).
